The meaning of Lake Gogebic.....
"Where Trout Rising to the Surface Make Rings on Still Waters"

Since the beginning of time, fishing has captured the imagination of men throughout the world. Lake Gogebic is recognized as a major fishery for walleye, pike, jumbo perch, smallmouth bass, and whitefish. Based on recent Michigan Department of Natural Resources records, Lake Gogebic hosts more state angler awards than any other lake in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Lake Gogebic encompasses 13,380 acres with 38 miles of beautiful shoreline.

Lake Gogebic is often referred to as "An Angler's paradise in one of the last frontier areas in the United States."
