Fishing on Lake Gogebic, Michigan's largest inland lake, is everything one would expect from a body of water that boasts more state angler awards than any other in the UP.

Lake Gogebic offers excellent walleye, jumbo perch and smallmouth bass fishing, while the greater Gogebic area provides an endless variety of lakes and rivers, for great year-round action.

Rent one of our boats (equipped with livewell and depth finder), or bring your own, and head out for a fun day on the water.  

In spring, work the rocky shoreline for spawning walleye with a jig and minnow. In mid-summer spend time in the weed beds in 8 to 15 feet of water with a slip bobber and leeches.

Winter ice fishing for jumbo perch is a Gogebic Lodge specialty that you don't want to miss out on.

Each year, towards the end of February, Gogebic Lodge hosts its annual ice fishing derby, where anglers from all over the area and beyond compete to see who can hook the largest fish of each species (walleye, northern, perch, and whitefish).  Win or lose, it's always a great day on the ice, after which the competitors can come in and warm up with a buffet dinner.
